Riveredge Nature Center
This project has two major sub-programs with overlapping equipment and material needs. The first is the Riveredge Ephemeral Pond Identification and Monitoring Program. The second is the Riveredge Level II Citizen-Based Water Quality Monitoring Program. This project plans to build staff training and participation in the WDNR 2006 Citizen-based Monitoring Level II pilot program. The training will support up to 24 volunteer monitors within a geographic area defined by the Milwaukee River Drainage Basin within Ozaukee and Washington Counties.

This project plans to prepare an introductory guide to Wisconsin’s sponges and create a reporting mechanism for citizens to report the presence of sponges at a particular site. These efforts will help assess the conservation status of Wisconsin sponges.
