The Wisconsin Frog and Toad Survey Animated Maps were created to present and display information about trends in Wisconsin's frog and toad species over time. The maps are a visualization tool that show the number of locations where frogs and toads have been heard calling over the past thirty-plus years.

The data used to generate these maps come from information collected by volunteers who record information through the Wisconsin Frog and Toad Survey (WFTS). The WFTS is coordinated by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources in cooperation with the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and the National Amphibian Monitoring Program (NAAMP).
