Mountain Bay Trail, From Thornton to a little past Kroenke Creek, west

Horned Clubtail (Arigomphus cornutus)

Both male and female Horned Clubtails were observed. Very hard to get a decent picture, the female seemed especially elusive.The female I finally took a few pictures of with a 500mm lens and cropped it heavily.

Midland Clubtail (Gomphurus fraternus)

I saw a few of these. I only managed to get a photo of a female.

I saw only two that I was able to definitely identify.

Common Whitetail (Plathemis lydia)
Observed
Many of these all over. Some would fly alongside while peddling our bikes down the trail.
Dot-tailed Whiteface (Leucorrhinia intacta)
Observed
A good number of these.
Four-spotted Skimmer (Libellula quadrimaculata)
Observed
Saw a few in different spots while chasing the Horned Clubtails.
Frosted Whiteface (Leucorrhinia frigida)
