The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and the University of Wisconsin-Extension received funding through Wisconsin’s Wildlife Action Planning Grant to gather information concerning citizen-based monitoring programs in order to:

• provide citizens the opportunity to learn about volunteer opportunities in their communities
• promote cooperation among citizen-based monitoring programs
• recognize the valuable contribution citizen-based monitoring programs make to the conservation of Wisconsin’s natural resources.
