An urban drainage creek running west-to-east, lying immediately north of the Truax Main Building on Madison Area Technical College's Truax Campus (to its south, it parallels the drive lane leading off Wright Street to the Main Building's north side; to its north is the staff parking lot/garage). The grass above its banks is mowed regularly, but along each shore grows a narrow strip of taller vegetation.

Citrine Forktail (Ischnura hastata)

One male Citrine Forktail, located in the taller vegetation on the creek's south side, and interspersed among many male and female Eastern Forktails (Ischnura verticalis). I flushed this male out several times before he landed in the nearby mowed grass and let me creep up close for photographs.
