Lincoln Park - Large pond with small stream off of it. There are areas of tall grass and cattails surrounding some of the water.

I've been photographing dragonflies in this area for 3-4 years and this is the first time I have seen one of these dragons.

Large population at this area and observed regularly each season.

Spotted and photographed two years ago and then saw the first ones this year on Saturday.

Seen by themselves but also sharing a stick perch with a female Common Whitetail.
Band-winged Dragonlet (Erythrodiplax umbrata)

I saw my first ever Band Winged Dragonlet today. It was sharing a perch with a Whitetail. See photo above of the shared perch. (1 photo)
