Floating sphagnum mat at the open bog pool, Twin Lakes Campground. It is walkable, but use caution as some spots are thinner than others, safety first! 70 degree days were a gamble for activity, mild wind and full sun could yield great activity or almost none at all. This day was between 80-83 degrees and even with a little wind gusts here and there the activity was highest I had seen.

Black-tipped Darner (Aeshna tuberculifera)
Netted and released
Was on the shoreline of the bog mat possibly ovipositing before being kicked up by males, possibly Canadas, and I was lucky with the net in the confusion.

Canada Darner (Aeshna canadensis)
Netted and released
Abundant. Netted 10 more or less. This one had some peculiar spots on its face.

One. Last one netted, kept to itself farther away from the shoreline and the Canada flock.
