Lance-tipped Darner (Aeshna constricta)
Netted and released
Over the course of 2.5 hours (including a 30-minute thunderstorm with heavy rain) netted, photographed, and released 23 Lance-tipped Darners; observed many more. The Lance-tipped Darners continued flying after the rain started (I caught 2) at least until I took cover in the car, and began flying again immediately after the rain stopped. Water is visible on the wings of Specimen #2 in the photo provided.
