Abundant on both lakes we walked. Gorgeous.

8-10 seen flying on both lakes.

1 male patrolling Hartman Lake as we were ‘swimming’.

Autumn Meadowhawk (Sympetrum vicinum)

Seen only this one for certain.

Black Saddlebags (Tramea lacerata)

Seen 3 or 4 on brief flybys. (Did not realize they haven’t been documented here. Disregard since I did not attempt a photo, but definitely seen them. Now I will make them a target on my next trip!)

Plentiful on both lakes.

Numerous on both lakes. A few ovipositing or in tandem.

Eastern Pondhawk (Erythemis simplicicollis)

Seen around half a dozen. Both sexes.

Halloween Pennant (Celithemis eponina)

4 or 5 seen. 1 female was tapping while we ‘swam’.

Slaty Skimmer (Libellula incesta)

Exciting to finally see these! Around 15 or so I would estimate on Hartman Lake. Pretty sure mostly male, but possibly older females also?

White-faced Meadowhawk (Sympetrum obtrusum)
Observed
Only a few.

Widow Skimmer (Libellula luctuosa)
Observed
Other than the smaller skimmers they were probably the most abundant flyers on both lakes.
