September 14, 2026 — Outagamie County
Gordon Bubolz Nature Preserve. Took a short look at the Turtle Pond, then went to my main target in the Quarry Pond. Walked the trails by the meadows before leaving but it had clouded up considerably by then.

A few in the edges of Quarry Pond.
Common Green Darner (

Counted 6 flying, flushing or perched around Quarry Pond.
Lance-tipped Darner (
Aeshna constricta)
Photographed
Seen both a male and female. Was able to get a clean look the female perched, a male was on the wrong side of the grass to get a full view before flushing.
Autumn Meadowhawk (
Sympetrum vicinum)

A good amount on both ponds and the walk between.
White-faced Meadowhawk (Sympetrum obtrusum)
Observed
Very abundant at both ponds and between. Both sexes seen and a few in tandem or ovipositing in pond.
Spotted Spreadwing (
Lestes congener)

A lot of both sexes around Quarry Pond. A few in tandem and ovipositing in tall grassy patches around pond.
