Blue-eyed Darner (Rhionaeschna multicolor)
I'd seen these blue-eyed darners (as well as other mosaics) fly around most of July. This represents my first attempt to photograph them. I was hoping to get a better photo but they stopped showing up after the first week in August. You can just make out the cerci well enough to distinguish this from other darners with blue eyes, icluding the Spatterdock Darner, in which the upper extension of the "claw" doesn't reach quite as far back.
