August 5, 2016 — Brown County
On the pubic-access part of the Cat Island Causeway.
Common Green Darner (
Anax junius)
Collected
This exuvia was found on the east, or lake side of the causeway. I have been seeing high densities of exuvia on the west (inland/marsh) side of the causeway for a week or two, and have been searching the lake side but have not seen any exuvia on the lake side until today. This is the only exuvia I found on the lake side. This was on emergent vegetation about 2 feet from the edge of the causeway rocks. Along this section of the causeway there is a scattered, intermittent band of emergent vegetation about 20 meters wide between the causeway and the open water.
