Along the shore, in the grasses, of Lake Michigan at Europe Bay, Newport State Park.

Variegated Meadowhawk (Sympetrum corruptum)
Photographed
As this is a "lifer" for me concerning this species, and I did not see the male (or at least haven't discovered it in my photos yet), you'll want to review image for correct identification. I believe it is a female but Legler notes the juvenile males look like the females.

Calico Pennant (Celithemis elisa)
Photographed
Am not submitting photos (though I've many and can, if you so request). The calico pennants were many in number, primarily sitting on stalks at the beach and in the junipers closer to the forest. Have never seen so many in one basic location. Same for next day - am I supposed to report them for each visit to the same location?
