Eau Claire River as it enters Lower Eau Claire Lake

Swift River Cruiser (Illinois River Cruiser ssp.) (Macromia illinoiensis illinoiensis)
Collected
Our 9 year old granddaughter found this emerging dragonfly late on Friday May 29th on the Eau Claire River where it empties into Lower Eau Claire Lake in southwest Bayfield County. Using Dragonflies of the North Woods, I Identified it is one of the Cruisers, which was confirmed by Kurt Mead. I looked on line at at cruiser nymph photos, and believe that it is a Swift River, primarily base on the "spikes" along the back side of the abdomen. It was fairly cool Friday evening and the nymph did not complete its emergence.
