June 4, 2020 — Dane County
This is a small wetland that always has standing water. I believe the Black Earth Creek begins here. It has some cattails and tall grass. It can be entered by walking along an impoundment that begins where the bike path nears the corner of Red Beryl Drive and Sunstone Lane
Common Green Darner (Anax junius)
Twelve-spotted Skimmer (Libellula pulchella)
Eastern Forktail (Ischnura verticalis)
This is the only spot in my area where I can count on seeing this species. I saw many.
Western Red Damsel
I saw two or three, both sexes, first time for me.
I saw at least 10, maybe 20, mostly very fresh tenerals.
