Sandy drainage ditch/stream that usually does not but consists of small standing-water pools. A large, artificial (mostly dead) retention pond is about 200 yards downstream.

Along the edge of the retention pond, surprising to me because it is mostly mud and mowed-off willow sticks, there were several familiar bluets of both sexes. mating and laying
