Dear WBCP survey volunteers,

The purpose of this message is to highlight the recent changes made at the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources in light of Gov. Evers' Safer at Home Emergency Order prohibiting all nonessential travel through May 24 to protect Wisconsinites from the spread of COVID-19, particularly those who are most vulnerable to infection and severe disease.

We are still up and running, and happy to help as we can. As we continue operations, please understand that staff are teleworking and may have limited access to files and delayed online connectivity. Our staff will keep their voicemails and out-of-office messages up to date and will respond as they are able. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

As such, please discontinue all WBCP Survey monitoring and activities that require travel and/or contact with others who are not part of your household for at least the duration of the Safer at Home Order.

Wondering how you can remain active as a citizen scientist during this time? Report any backlogged data, practice your identification skills, and participate in one of these at-home projects (not all projects are suitable for every back yard).

We at the DNR thank you for your patience and cooperation as we all go through the COVID-19 emergency together.

This is a rapidly evolving situation. For updates on event cancellations and building closures at DNR properties, visit the DNR website or follow @WIDNR on Facebook, @wi_dnr on Instagram, or @WDNR on Twitter.

For specific information regarding the COVID-19 we encourage the public to frequently monitor the DHS website for updates, and to follow @DHSWI on Facebook and Twitter, or dhs.wi on Instagram. Additional information can be found on the CDC website.
