This strikingly marked, green and brown striped clubtail has a black abdomen marked with yellow. The length of the body varies from 1.8 to 2.1 inches. It is similar to some other clubtails so a careful inspection is needed. Clubtail species are very similar to each other in some aspects, careful inspection is needed to identify them.
Description of Habitat/Range:
It is mainly found throughout central United States and south central Canada. It is usually found at ponds, lakes and slow streams. Infrequently found in Wisconsin, it is only known from few northwestern and southern counties.
