Early Morning Bird Walks, 1 Jul 2021 - 31 Dec 2022

8-10am. Tues, Wed, Thurs. Various locations. Kick-start your day with fresh air and bird song. Interested bird watchers of all ability levels are invited. Registration required.

Monitor your lake's water clarity, water chemistry, ice on and ice off, and species composition.

Wisconsin Turtle Conservation Program, 1 Apr 2022 - 30 Sep 2022

Report all turtle sightings, including road mortalities to the WTCP. Data are used to document distribution and abundance or turtles and to identify hazardous road crossings.

Water Action Volunteers - Stream Monitoring, 1 Apr 2022 - 31 Oct 2022

Monitor dissolved oxygen, temperature, transparency, stream flow, habitat, and macroinvertebrates. You'll get help setting up local stream monitoring programs, training to learn methods for monitoring, written methods, data sheets, and more.

Wisconsin Bumble Bee Brigade, 1 Apr 2022 - 31 Oct 2022

Monitor and photograph native bumble bees to inform conservation and management efforts.

Wisconsin Rare Plant Monitoring Program, 15 Apr 2022 - 31 Oct 2022

Verify historical locations of rare plants and monitor their status. All participants must complete the program's trainings (offered each spring) prior to volunteering.

Wisconsin Bat Program - Acoustic & Roost Monitoring, 15 Apr 2022 - 30 Sep 2022

Monitor bats at night by traveling a set route with an acoustic bat detector or by counting bats as they leave a summer roost (bat house, barn, attic).

Monarch Larva Monitoring Project, 15 Apr 2022 - 30 Sep 2022

Location: statewide
Help document the distribution and abundance of breeding monarchs. Find a patch of milkweed and monitor it weekly for monarch eggs, larvae, and pupae.

Integrated Monarch Monitoring Program, 1 May 2022 - 30 Sep 2022

This national monitoring project relies on volunteers to monitor monarchs, milkweed, and nectar plants at priority sites.

Wisconsin Mussel Monitoring Program, 1 May 2022 - 30 Sep 2022

Monitor Wisconsin's native mussels. Wade in stream or walk along shorelines and photograph and count mussels.

Clean Boats, Clean Waters, 16 May 2022 - 15 Sep 2022
Organization: Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, UW-Extension.
Location: statewide
Trained volunteers inspect watercraft for aquatic invasive species and report sightings.
