Monarch Larva Monitoring Project (MLMP) Training

10-3. Learn how to get involved with monarch butterfly research and conservation. Participants will learn about monarch biology, practice monitoring and data entry protocols, and become prepared to monitor. Registration required; fees vary.

Wisconsin Volunteer Carnivore Tracking Program, 1 Nov 2020 - 31 Mar 2021

Location: northern and central Wisconsin
Estimate the abundance and distribution of carnivores by observing the number and location of their tracks. Participants must complete training sessions before monitoring.

Water Action Volunteers - Stream Monitoring, 1 Apr 2021 - 31 Oct 2021

Monitor dissolved oxygen, temperature, transparency, stream flow, habitat, and macroinvertebrates. You'll get help setting up local stream monitoring programs, training to learn methods for monitoring, written methods, data sheets, and more.

Wisconsin Frog and Toad Survey, 1 Apr 2021 - 31 Jul 2021

Conduct calling surveys of frogs and toads along set driving routes or monitor the phenology of calls at a single location.

Monarch Larva Monitoring Project, 15 Apr 2021 - 30 Sep 2021

Help document the distribution and abundance of breeding monarchs. Find a patch of milkweed and monitor it weekly for monarch eggs, larvae, and pupae.
